During my university education, I studied and worked across several different countries including Bosnia, Jordan, Morocco, and the United Kingdom. During this time, I served as a writer and later as Editor in Chief for The Global Journal, Northeastern University’s first International Affairs degree publication covering politics and culture abroad. Below are my best works from this period:
Traveling Through a Divided Kingdom: On traveling through Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England during the summer of 2017, almost exactly a year after the Brexit referendum. In this piece, I look at the cultural tensions within the United Kingdom laid bare by the leave vote.
On The Edge of Syria: A reflection of the impact of the Syrian Refugee Crises in Jordan, written during the height of the crises in the summer of 2016.
Returning to Sarajevo: On living in Sarajevo, Bosnia during the fall of 2016. This piece touches on the still-lingering effects of the conflict 20 years after the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Sarajevo: The War, the People, the Dialogue: My first piece written for the Global Journal, this piece covers my experience in as a young student in Bosnia during the summer of 2015.
